Remark: Basic rates include boat, tour guide, Personal Accident Insurance and information sheets. Go-again guarantee is not applicable to charter trips but if no dolphin is sighted on a particular charter, we are happy to offer a discount to the same group who will charter us again within the following 6 months.

Free gifts and special charter rates for schools and charities:
With immediate effect, any school or charitable group that charters us will get 2 free copies of a book we have published called “The Story of Hope” and if possible, some other items such as our company caps till stock last. In addition, due to our switching to a 56-passenger cruiser from March 2012, a bigger discount than the usual 10% off for groups of 56 people will be available to schools and charities. Full day charters not available on all Sundays while half day charters not possible on Sunday mornings throughout the year.

If you want to charter us during summer time especially between June to August, you are highly recommended to make a reservation with us at least two months in advance to ensure the availability.

Optional Extras (Starting From 1 January 2012):

Round trip bus (air-conditioned): to Tung Chung costs $1200 for 24/28 seats and $1600 for 56/60 seats, including round-trip tolls of Tsing Ma Control Area. Exact charges subject to change per pricing revision by bus company.
Lunch: can be arranged at a restaurant in Tai O or an on-board buffet. (Please call us for menu and more information.)
Air-conditioning (only applicable to 56 pax boats) :

While you are out with us watching dolphins, sea breeze, fresh air and a high sky is much better than being locked inside for air-conditioning which requires burning more fuel. We would be most grateful if you could consider lending the environment a hand by not requesting to have air-conditioning on our boats. It is exactly for the same consideration that we do not provide air-conditioning on all of our regular dolphin watching tours, ie, those run on every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

If you insist in having air-conditioning, you will have to pay for an addition charge. This must be booked well in advance for the crew to prepare for the additional fuel. On the spot request cannot be entertained whatsoever.

Trip Duration

We generally depart from Tung Chung and need at least 3 hours on the sea to ensure a good sighting, but any more time will increase your chances. We can also leave from Tuen Mun public pier, Tsuen Wan can also do but it will take longer to reach the dolphin habitat from the latter. We don't suggest to depart from Central or TST because just driving to the dolphin area will need 3 hours and the ride will be bumpy. For lunch in Tai O, you should factor in at least another 2.5 hours, that means it will be a full day trip with a total of 7 hours, assuming boarding at Tung Chung or Tuen Mun.

Reservation and payment

Please fill in the application form （please click to download） and return to us by e-mail. We need a 50% deposit for reservation, and the other 50% at least two week before the trip.

Payment can be made through our bank account in Hong Kong Bank no. 144-297561-001, or you can send a cheque payable to Hong Kong Dolphinwatch Ltd. to our office: 1528A, Star House, TST, Kowloon.

Cancellations

We cancel the trip if there is typhoon signal 3 of higher, or a black thunderstorm warning issued two hours prior to the start of the trip, otherwise we go ahead. If you want to cancel, you have to notify us at least one week before the trip and there will be a cancellation charge of 20% of the total amount. The trip cannot be cancelled for any notice shorter than that. If you still wish to cancel, a full charge will have to be collected.

Note

We have seen dolphins on more than 97% of our trips. If no dolphins are seen, we will consider running another trip at a discounted price for the same group. Our go-again guarantee is not applicable to the charter dolphinwatch.

Personal Accident Insurance is included, covering for travelers who join for a one day tour within Hong Kong. Maximum benefits per person is HK$100,000.
